Professor Guram Karazanashvili — Doctor of Medical Sciences, robotic surgeon, onco-urologist and reconstructive urologist, founder of the “Guram Karazanashvili Robotic Center”. He is the President of the Georgian Association of Oncological Urology, a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Urological Oncology, an expert in urology of the Ministry of Health of Georgia, and a laureate of the Georgian National Prize.
His many years of professional and scientific activity include clinical and scientific programs implemented in leading medical centers in Europe. Professor Karazanashvili's name is associated with the introduction of robotic surgery in Georgia and the Caucasus region - in 2024, he performed the first robot-assisted operation in the region, and later performed a unique reconstructive operation to create an artificial bladder using robotic technology. One of the important directions of his activity is the early diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, as well as the introduction and development of modern technologies and treatment methods in Georgia and the region.
